Raquel Carreras Rodríguez

Raquel Carreras Rodriguez was born in Madrigal de las Altas Torres (Avila), Spain. She studied pharmacy at the University of Madrid. She married and left for the USA, soon after beginning her formal training in art under Howard Markoff and Antonio Luis Gutierrez, winner of the Sorolla prize and also an alumnus of the great master. She painted for numerous years and enrolled at Jacksonville University for a Bachelor of Arts degree where she graduated with honors in Fine Arts. She has continued painting, now under the consultation of artist and professor Paul Ladnier. She has had her work shown in banks, The Friday Musicale, Jacksonville University, Independent Life. and the Deerwood Country Club. There are private collections of her art in Florida (USA) and in Madrid, Sevilla, The Canary Islands and Barcelona, Spain.

 

Raquel Carreras Rodriguez draws and paints in all mediums: drawing, watercolors, ink, acrylic oils and multimedia. Presently her style is contemporary impressionistic although she executes  abstract painting, abstract realism, and coloristic interpretations. She lives in Jacksonville where she paints predominantly in her studio.
